Cameron Facilities provides building reception services for Perth commercial office buildings and mixed use developments, staffing the front of house role that manages visitors, tenant enquiries and day to day building presentation. A commercial building’s reception is the first point of contact for every visitor, courier and prospective tenant.

Why Professional Reception Matters for Commercial Buildings
For A-grade and B-grade commercial buildings, a well run reception is part of what tenants are paying for in their lease, alongside building services and amenity. A reception desk that is understaffed or inconsistently managed reflects poorly on the building owner, not just the individual tenant a visitor is there to see. We staff reception the same way we staff concierge roles, prioritising people with genuine customer service ability and clear communication skills.

Why Perth Buildings Choose Cameron Facilities for Reception Services
Building reception services are delivered under our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and connect with our parcel and mailroom management and resident and tenant liaison services, forming part of our broader concierge services in Perth.

Reception, Concierge and Security Are Three Different Roles
These get used interchangeably and they are not the same job. Reception is front of house for a single organisation or tenancy, focused on greeting, directing and administrative support. A concierge runs the front of the building rather than the front of an office, handling access, parcels, bookings, contractors and resident or tenant requests. Security is a licensed function in Western Australia with its own regulatory requirements. Buying one and expecting another is where most building front desk arrangements go wrong.
What a Building Reception Service Covers
- Greeting and directing visitors, and managing the visitor register
- Contractor sign in, induction checks and verification of insurances and licences before anyone goes upstairs
- Access card and key issue, return and register
- Switchboard and call handling where the building or tenant requires it
- Parcel and courier receipt and release
- Meeting room and amenity bookings
- Loading dock and delivery coordination
- Logging building faults and passing them to the right trade rather than into an email thread
- First point of contact when something goes wrong
The Contractor Sign In Is the Part That Carries Risk
Most buildings treat the visitor book as a formality. It is the one control that stands between an unverified trade and a live switchboard or a roof anchor point. A properly run desk checks that the contractor is who they say they are, that the work is authorised, that their licence and insurance are current, and that they have been inducted to that building. It takes two minutes and it is the single most useful thing a reception service does that nobody asks about at quotation stage.
Coverage and What It Costs
Reception is priced on hours covered, not on the building. The variables are the roster and the hours, the award classification and any penalty rates attaching to evenings and weekends, the level of relief cover for leave and absence, and whether uniforms, training, systems and supervision sit inside the rate or outside it. Two quotes for the same desk can differ substantially because one priced genuine relief cover and the other assumed the desk is empty when the regular person is away.
The People
We recruit from hospitality rather than from security for these roles, because the skill that matters is handling a frustrated person without escalating it. Presentation, communication and judgment are the job. Building reception sits alongside our concierge services and our building management service, so a request taken at the desk goes straight to somebody who can act on it.
